Historically the parka was a heavy jacket used to minimise heat escaping. In the 1950’s, the Mountain Rescue Service officially adopted the piece into their uniform as it protected them from the terrible conditions faced on their rescue missions. This original piece featured an angled map pocket, wooden toggles and oversized buttons.
With explorers and mountaineers like Sir Edmond Hillary in mind, our rendition of this classic outerwear piece features side stash pockets to put your hands in on brisk mornings, heavy drill cotton for extra weather durability, thick genuine leather toggles, custom embossed snap domes, and full body & hood lining.
