Trend Report – MONOCHROME

MONOCHROME casts off its Sixties connotations for good, as this seasons collections play with all manner of decorative devices to give black and white a fresh, modern makeover.

Opposites attract, and black and white have found each other once again—pattern play, couture detailing, geometrics and intelligent design all have their part to play in this style story, with fashion luminaries from the catwalk and the street style stage, bloggers, high end designers and labels like FATE (pictured) – among others re-invent traditional monochromatic prints like stripes and plaid with a new printed variation worn in monochromatic splendor, the silhouettes are ladylike but the classic staples gives a boy-meets-girl effect to even a button-up blouse. To keep your look in step, wear only black or white shoes.
